Description
Hiking Trek with four stages, touring around the massif, with the option to crown the summit, 2.784 m, free from technical challenges, beyond some dizziness during the climb up the Xemeneia (Chimney) in the south side (optional). The Trek circles between the north-Catalan shires of Vallespir and Conflent, stopping in all four cardinal points: Batère to the East, Sant Guillem to the South, Mariailles to the West and Cortalets to the North. The four different stages facing the four main winds, the broad elevation gradient and the vicinity of the Mediterranean to one of the sides, render the Trek into an exhibition of floral diversity. From 1.080 m of elevation to the top, the trails cross deep Atlantic beech forests, covered by moss, dry-land bushy forests, or abrupt skylines of craggy cliffs.

The trek is in operation during the summer season, although the exact dates are flexible, depending on the presence of snow in the mountains and the calendar of the lodgings. Reservations placed before May 15th are entitled to a 5% rebate.

If you are trail runners and you want to make this trek running, just register! You can stamp the control card at every lodging, and you can send us your track when you finish. You will be part of this trek’s runners classification, and the fastest will have a prize!
TRAIL RUNNERS
The trek can be started from Sant Guillem, Batère, Cortalets or Mariailles at your best convenience. Nevertheless, it is recommended to start from Batère, because it can be easily reached by car. Sequence, duration and direction (clockwise-counterclockwise) are not pre-determined. While choosing, though, bear in mind the vehicle access restrictions to the four refuges. Look them up in the chapter "TIPS"
